Summary/Abstract: Ablation in cardiology is used to treat arrhythmias. Optimal parameters have been determined to make it effective and safe. Three classification methods were applied: logistic regression, cluster analysis and correspondence analysis, to determine such limit values of the analyzed features (RF power, application duration, contact force, ablation electrode tip size) or such anatomical parameters of the scar (delta impedance, scar entry diameter, entry depth of scar, total depth of scar) which are crucial for the formation of transmural scar in bipolar ablation, during which the current was passed between relatively close electrodes. The study was performed on 72 porcines interventricular septal. The analysis showed that the highest probability of transmurality was obtained during a 90-second application while using an 8mm electrode with 20g tip-load. The results obtained by clustering analysis show that transmurality can be achieved with similar efficacy predicted by anatomical scars.
