Summary/Abstract: The study discusses an unpublished report of the Italian Embassy in Bucharest in 1954, which highlights the manner in which the communist authorities in Romania, in the purest totalitarian style, are trying to reform the Romanian language in the sense of falsifying Romanian linguistics and Romanian history. Practically, from up to down, is imposed an untrue vision of Romanian language and history that highlights the inaccurate importance of the Slav element in the Romanian nation in order to stabilize the idea that Romania is naturally part of the Slav (Soviet) world, despite of the historical evidences. Diplomatic correspondence highlights the drama of the situation and the attempt to divert historical truth.
