Summary/Abstract: In Un tal Daneri, Alberto Breccia and Carlos Trillo composed a noir story that takes place within an unnamed southern neighbourhood in the city of Buenos Aires. That neighbourhood is Mataderos where Breccia grew up, and which he began to rebuild in particular ways from his comics in the 1970s. In the meantime, this work had an unstable publication life, being issued in different media intermittently between 1974 and 1979. In this period, that goes through the Argentine institutional crisis and concludes with the 1976-1983 military dictatorship, the stories take on a dense, highly dark and immoral atmosphere, but one not without codes. Fate, luck, honour, death and even some love are present in a specular game that inevitably refers to the works of J. L. Borges, and to the very character of dark, sad, lonely Daneri.
