Summary/Abstract: The article substantiates the differentiation between ‘effectiveness’ and ‘efficiency’ in the context of supply chain management. The authors researched the impact of this differentiation on the process of the diagnosis of the supply chain. The article contains the analysis of the set of performance metrics defined by SCOR-model in terms of effectiveness and efficiency. On the basis of adapting the classical model of portfolio-analysis to the identification of the state of supply chain management in terms of effectiveness and efficiency the authors constructed the matrix which reflects the correlation between ‘effectiveness’ and ‘efficiency’ in terms of performance metrics according to the model used by the researcher. The use of the matrix will help to design the system of point recommendation primarily due to avoid the negative impact of supply chain’s «bottlenecks» which are difficult to recognize without this matrix.
