Summary/Abstract: In most cases, the science of the state systems is limited to the economy and politics. In the case of Poland, the third perspective in which the active Polish society operates according to its own logic takes on significance. The institutional horizon is presented in analyzes as a conceptual framework for linking the structures of reference in the network of politics, economics and society. Utilizing the idea of economic culture, there is a solution proposed with elements of the informal institutions concept. The aim of this article is to present the theoretical understanding of the significance of these institutions in the economic development of contemporary Poland and to suggest directions for further research in this field.
