The employment of persons deprived of liberty in the light of statistical data.

Summary/Abstract: The most severe sanction provided in the Polish Criminal Code is the penalty of deprivation of liberty. It intervenes in the rights and freedoms important for the individual. Despite the repressive nature of the penalty, some persons who were deprived of liberty were granted certain privileges, main aim of which is to speed up the process of rehabilitation. Very important in achieving crucial punishment is employment. The article deals with the employment of persons deprived of liberty sensu largo, those who are sentenced to imprisonment, as well as those temporarily arrested and punished. The dogmatic analysis was supported by statistical data on the employment of persons deprived of liberty and data regarding persons remaining in prison isolation.
