The Importance of Convention Bureaux Organisational Form for their Activity in Cities

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to investigate the differences in appraisal of convention bureaux’ task according to organisational forms of these institutions. Thereby, it was indicated what the role of convention bureaux in cities and local meetings industry is. To achieve the research aim a survey among convention bureaux’ representatives was conducted. 73 foreign and 9 Polish managers sent back filled questionnaires. The survey was carried out respectively in 2016 third quarter and 2017 first quarter. The results show that convention bureaux working as public-private partnership are more specialised in bidding for meetings that institution acting as department of public authority.
