Specificity of Cloud Computing Application in Logistic Enterprises

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to present possibilities and specifics of cloud computing application in enterprises with special consideration of logistic companies. The paper explains the concept of cloud computing and analyses the advantages and disadvantages of its application in enterprises. The possibilities and examples of cloud computing application in logistic enterprises have been presented. Cloud computing provides dynamic access to services and information that are currently needed in supply chain management. It is common that companies outsource business activities, especially in area of IT management. The benefits of IT outsourcing include cost reduction and providing access to the innovative technical solutions, but traditional outsourcing model is often too costly and inflexible. Cloud computing solutions have numerous advantages for enterprise and are more suitable for contemporary logistic companies.
