Summary/Abstract: In the late 16th and early 17th century, an attempt was made to codify the land law of the crown. One of the amendment drafts was made by Jan Januszowski. However, his Statuta prawa i constitucie was rejected by the Sejm in 1601. The reasons for its failure included political circumstances. Januszowski’s attempts at removing some faults of the project were however futile, as the amended version of the Statuses drafted around 1610 was not even discussed by the Parliament.
