Summary/Abstract: The role of the nobility in the making of local parliament resolutions changed with its diminishing impact on the affairs of the state. The analysis of the process of developing the law leads to the conclusion that the circle of people participating in it narrowed down, with an increasing influence of leaders of political factions. This took place at the stage of submitting drafts, preparation of the final version of the resolution of the local parliament, the voting, and the recording of laws. Made during the session of the Great Sejm, attempts at amending this situation – detrimental for the state – came too late and did not manage to save the declining Commonwealth.
