Summary/Abstract: In the article, the likely directions of cooperation between economists and sociologists are explored. Such an endeavour requires a thorough discussion concerning ontological and epistemological issues. Establishing such cooperation is not an easy task, yet it is feasible, provided that the common part of the social system and the society, that is people playing various economic, social and political roles, is the subject of interest for scholars associated with the both fields. Furthermore, investigating the problems that have not yet been tackled by either economics or sociology seems to be another direction for future interdisciplinary research.
