Summary/Abstract: The present subject is chosen due to the fact that in Poland, like in other European Union countries, permanent development and absorption of innovation within the innovative process in its broadest sense, constitute the foundation of knowledge-based economy as well as the policy of social and economic consistency. Since 1900 s, it has been frequently emphasized that clusters provide almost perfect conditions for the development of innovative processes. Thus, the innovativeness of Polish clusters has been attempted to characterize. Desk research focuses on the selected results of a few series of research on Polish clusters, conducted by the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development. Theoretical study and a synthetic analysis of secondary sources of information has allowed the formulation of observations of descriptive theoretical, as well as practical nature.
