Summary/Abstract: Now 76 million migrants live in Europe. Although migrations are not a new phenomenon for Europeans, their growing scale causes the increase in fear among most societies in our continent. Those fears are also present among the Poles and a growing protest particularly against the relocation of refugees leads to the fact that our attitude towards foreigners has been constantly monitored by CBOS. Migration flows can have a significant impact on a local community both demographically and economically, socially or culturally. The objective of this article is to point out important threats which according to the author are brought about by external migrations and the assessment of their influence on the safety of local communities.
