The Influence of Knowledge on the Feeling of Safety

Summary/Abstract: In this article the meaning of security, certainty and safety containing physical and mental elements is analyzed. Knowledge has a special significance for the feeling of safety (certainty and lack of threats). Because of multisubjectivity of national security system, it is crucial to properly manage and gain knowledge. First of all, it is composed of gathering common knowledge about security in every institution. It allows multi sided judgement of every situation, elaboration of procedures and taking right decisions. Second, it relies on sharing and transmitting knowledge to proper organizational structures of national security system and to the society. Feeling of safety is influenced by hidden and common knowledge, which are derived from experience, stereotypes and prejudice.
