Summary/Abstract: The article considers one of the basic problems in the modern linguistics – the picture of the world. The presented research is based on the Polish and Ukrainian phraseology. However, examples from other languages are added in order to determine the characteristics of worldview. The contrastive nature of the work makes it possible to detect specific picture of the world of each of the nations, while taking into account the linguistic phenomena common to both societies.
