Summary/Abstract: The study discusses the Mongol invasion based on the findings from two sites in the Kiskunság region. The mass graves containing the corpses of the mass murder of two communities uncovered at Kiskunmajsa and on the settlement around the Árpádian Age monastery near Bugac are set against the information contained in contemporaneous written sources in order to examine the latters’ reliability.
