Summary/Abstract: The article presents the concept of execution of power and attitude of Josef II to reforms, focusing on selected administrative, court, and civic reforms. The new concept of legislation is explained together with the function that law is to play, and reforms in civil and criminal law are discussed. The article closes with a recapitulation of the most crucial results of the reforms conducted during the reign of Josef II.
