Summary/Abstract: The revitalization act defines revitalization as a „process of deriving degraded areas from a crisis state, conducted in a comprehensive manner, through integrated activities for the benefit of the local community, space and economy, territorially concentrated”. Comprehensive activity refers here to complementarity in terms of both spatial, problem, as well as procedural and financial aspects. The preparation of a full revitalization program and its implementation involves the municipality first and foremost, as a unit authorized to perform such tasks. There are various possibilities for financing the revitalization process. Moreover, in most projects it is necessary to use financial engineering to indicate more than one source of funding. The purpose of this article is to identify the possibilities of financing the revitalization process by the commune and to indicate the determinants that are or should be taken into account when choosing the source of financing.
