Summary/Abstract: The author discusses the main features of the Latin grammar applied in the polemical works written by Martin (Sentiváni SJ). When dealing with the baroque literary creation, one has to také into consideration the style of every individual text. In accordance wiťh Franz Wagner SJ, a philologist of Germán origin whose linguistic works exerted cosiderable influence on the Central Europe-an education of the periód, the author distinguishes between the simple and elegant styles. Sentiváni's polemical works are written in the stylus simplex, and as šuch they appear very close to spoken language. The paper represents an attempt to find convenient methods for analysis of Neo-Latintexts written in the simple style.
