Protection of Fuel Bases as Part of Critical Infrastructure in Terms of Selected Normative Acts

Summary/Abstract: Continuity of supply of energy and fuel is a precondition to ensure the security of the state and its citizens. Fuel sector is one of the most important sectors of national economy and its infrastructure includes a technical assistance to the processing, storage and distribution of liquid fuels. Necessity protection of critical infrastructure for the functioning of the state follows legal regulations. The article analyzes the selected normative acts in force in the area of fuel bases, as part of the critical infrastructure, related to ensuring security and continuity of supply at the same time emphasizing their quantitative and qualitative span. Theoretical considerations, supported by examples of legal solutions, indicate that to ensure security is fundamental not only to the creation of the relevant regulations, but also their effective enforcement.
