Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to present the location factors of small and mediumsized enterprises in clusters influencing the processes of entrepreneurship development in the region. In the EU a region is considered the largest unit of the administrative division of the country with an elected government, the legal personality and its own budget. The competitiveness of the region is affected by economic factors of the creation and development of enterprises. Economic factors relate primarily to the level of production and transport costs, the noticeable evolution is a hierarchy of importance and types considered determinants. Regional determinants of the creation and development of small and medium-sized enterprises are the weave of various economic factors, as indicated by the analysis of clusters as geographic concentrations of companies operating in one or a limited number of related sectors. To a large extent, it is based on the research of factors of competitiveness clusters based on modern research processes, development of entrepreneurship in the region.
