Summary/Abstract: The second half of the sixteenth century brought political, economic and social changes in Wallachia. Boyars involved themselves more and more in political strategies, which strengthened their power within the state. This political power depended on economic influence, sustained on one side by material goods, and on the other side by an expansion of landed property. The goal of my research is to track down how the domain of Buzeşti family was formed in the sixteenth century and how this area was influenced by the strength of the ruler and of the boyars. How did these boyars acquire their estates? In what region did they own land? What for did they use the land? How did their relationship with the princes influence the evolution of their domain? When did they receive or lose land? These are just some questions that I am trying to answer in this research. Furthermore, these answers offer an innovative character to my study.
