Summary/Abstract: This article directs attention to some particular features of language acquisition and contrastive analysis in teaching L2. Presented comments refer to Polish learners of Italian language. Contrastive grammar mentioned in the article refers to the method widely used in glottodidactics which identifies the similarities and differences between two language systems. This leads to the improvement of the learning process and as a result – language competition.
