Summary/Abstract: The concept of social responsibility of administration is present in many areas of activity of state organs, especially local government. Social responsibility was initially tied to business only. Currently it is applicable not only to non-governmental organizations, but also directly to public administration, mainly at local and regional level. It has its own legal dimension. Administration does not work to fulfil its own needs. Its mission is to meet the social needs that can be related to individual units or groups of individuals. Public administration is responsible in a social dimension for the execution of tasks resulting from acts or the tasks assigned to them by governmental authorities. Public administration can’t operate in isolation from the surrounding entities, whether they are entrepreneurs, customers of public administration or resource providers.
