Summary/Abstract: Occupational prestige is one of the most explored research problems in history of sociology. However, the concept of prestige remains blurred (and in many questionnaires this word is replaced with other). In the research for my PhD thesis I aimed at constructing social definition of occupational prestige. I was mainly interested in individual perspective of members of occupational groups that are considered prestigious. My research plan was based on triangulation of methods and sources of data. In this paper I present results of my quantitative research and qualitative (IDI interviews) research.
