Sabato’s “The Tunnel “in the light of psychoanalysis

Summary/Abstract: Sabato’s imaginary constructions, given as the basis on which the story on his novel “The Tunnel” is structured, functions in an interdependence relation with his personal life. We can easily know who Ernesto Sabato was just by reading his novel. Awareness of the aseertion of this kind of phrase leads,inevitably, to the placement and ordering off acts, having as material the real life of the author and the final literary production (the novel). On the edges of this twosome we see Sabato as a person and Sabato as an author and, as direct derivations of the first one,the neurosis, the frustrations, the hysterics and the darkest sides of personality (which illuminate the character in its full frames). By creating the Castel, as a receptacle where he pours all his vices, Sabato undergoes the great spiritual catharsis.
