Summary/Abstract: The increasing attractiveness of the services sector for foreign investors indicates the need to define “a set of advantages and disadvantages specific to the location of the investment” (Pilarska, 2006, p. 47). This study assessed the characteristics, factors that, according to foreign investors, determine the attractiveness of the location of the investment. According to the analyzed group of foreign investors, the market, especially its size, plays a decisive role in the services sector. Political conditions are not important for investors, and as a neutral are perceptible the existing opportunities for transfer of profits. It can therefore be concluded that the analyzed group of entities operating in the service sector undertakes mainly market-oriented investments, create companies – branches that invest in the host country’s market for the purpose of selling their services there. It must be borne in mind, however, that there are numerous studies conducted on this subject that the motives for making FDI change with the change in the value of incoming investment.
