Summary/Abstract: The paper focuses on the increasing popularity of running as a free time activity that emerged with the arrival of 21st century. As it is observed in the paper, the increase in popularity can be linked to its accessibility and complexity as a sports activity. The paper attempts to analyse this by drawing a triade that explains running as a hobby, philosophy - a different way of thinking - and, finally, as a lifestyle and a means of advertising products. In this, the paper analyses forms and vocabulary that media and culture both use to speak about running.
