Summary/Abstract: The main goal of this report is to conduct a substantial analysis of some fundamental normative documents in the Secondary and university systems of education. A vector model of the professional competency of the biology teacher has been modeled on the grounds of this theoretical analysis. The concept of the discipline “The origin of life and theories of evolution” in the context of the standards of the biology teacher training at the University of Sofia is well described here. A piece of the curriculum in the form of topics and their descriptions is presented, as well.
