Summary/Abstract: Analyzing the artistic avant-garde movements, we areinterested in looking into how, by introducing the sublime experience, the artisticmedium changes its features and how, by aligning itself with technology, the avantgardestates itself as main factor in changing reality, still keeping its critical attitudetowards instrumental rationality – technology is taken as means of improving humanperception. At stake was the idea of ensuring the subject’s freedom towards nature, confronting him with the possibility of a de-naturalized body. We will illustrate ourapproach by discussing the differences between two artistic programs: Zűrich Dadaismand Berlin Dadaism.
