Summary/Abstract: The article is an attempt to evaluate and synthesize the legal basis for the activities of social non-governmental organizations in a joint crisis management process. The observations made concern the practical use of the third sector to support government and local government organizations and the benefits that these organizations can bring in the complex, continuous and flexible crisis management process. The aim of the study is also to present the criteria that must be met so that social organizations can effectively participate in the implementation of tasks related to civil protection in cooperation with public administration units. The study systematizes and enriches knowledge about activities, non-governmental forms of security for the benefit of the crisis management system of the Republic of Poland.
