Summary/Abstract: The legal guarantees of access to education for the person with intellectual disabilities frequently are of declarative character, which requires improvements in observance of the legally constituted rights. The paper looks into the most important legal guarantees of access to education and enforcement of those for the persons with disabilities based on the analysis of the current situation in Latvia and worldwide.
