Summary/Abstract: Ekqesij cronikh is a XVI century work written by an anonymous author. This author or compiler gives some data on our regions as well. The topic of this work is the part of the chronicle which relates to the Ottoman conquest of Hungary, especially to the mention of Petrovaradin, i. e. its’ siege and conquest by the Turks in 1526. The data provided by Ekqesij cronikh is analyzed and compared with other contemporary sources, especially Turkish and Hungarian. Even though it is written in a popular manner and contains some mistakes, this chronicle is a very interesting source for late Byzantine history, but also for the period after the fall of Constantinople and Ottoman conquests during the XVI century.
