Summary/Abstract: After a period longer than a quarter of a century, we can ascertain that we are in fact poorer, fewer, with a weaker economy, with no remarkable investments or even no investments at all in infrastructure, education,health system, defense, public order etc., with a morale suitable for the place we seem to occupy in the European Union, i.e. the last place, along with Bulgaria. The quality of life is the ultimate indicator of the society centred on the needs and aspirations of people.
