Summary/Abstract: Today’s new media rely on digitization and connectivity in forms and in amounts that were hard to imagine a generation ago. The shifting from old/analogical media to digital ones has an observable impact on the message itself, and associated changes in our lives are unparalleled in the memory of humankind. Yet, while technological advancement has soared high, there is a growing perception of relativization or erosion of social standards in an inverse proportion to that. As the influence exerted by media on messages develops, Marshall McLuhan’s postulation “the medium is the message” (1964) gains revived significance.
