Summary/Abstract: The principal aim of the article is the presentation of the fragment of life of Jadwiga Sapieżyna nee Sanguszko (1830-1918), a very important part of life from the point of view of a young woman and wife, namely the period of engagement and first years after the marriage ceremony. It’s a time of stepping into the adulthood, full of many events and experiences. The rhythm of everyday life of Jadwiga Sapieżyna has been shown in the light of ego-documents — the correspondence to her mother and her memories — present¬ing this period from the perspective of her experiences and reflections. The plan of a day and activities accompanying it have been discussed, taking into account the interests and abilities of this young noblewoman.
