Summary/Abstract: In the process from primitive tribes to the worlds of 21th century world, has shown existence while increasing the importance; while its way of transaction, its image and its rules is in constant change. From agoras to market places, from covered bazaars to bedestens and to, with its current name, shopping centers; this spaces of trade, in time has gained value as the most dynamic, moving and economically important spots; reached to this day as the heart and the sensible indicator of economy. The act of shopping, started as a mutual exchange has gained shape with requests and demands; there was a need of specific spaces for this act and with this need, the first ever shopping centers took place by the identification and selection of empty spaces for exchanges. In the global perspective, the big steps in the concept of shopping has taken with the industrial revolution; the concentration of shopping centers and rapid urbanization has caused multi-storey shops and shopping centers to appear. Nowadays, the shopping centers has got out of just being the fulfillments of shopping needs and became socially powerful spaces that unifies the customers with other service industries (the entertainment industry being in the first place), and aims to fulfill not only material and instant needs but social communication needs also. The consideration important of the role in the human life of the dynamics that brings communal aspect to the shopping center, will get ahead of the simplification of shopping as just an act of fulfillment of needs and will put the significance of the surveillance of the interdisciplinary design principals.
