Summary/Abstract: A political system which is composed of a state with all the institutions and functions, and the environment that influences its functions can be a side of the relations with the religion. Since, both religion and modern state are interested in shaping the emotions, thought patterns and behaviour of the society and have rules governing their actions, and also sanctions if rules are not followed. Thus, we can say that religion and the state both penetrate to all parts of the individual’s life, and they demand to organise it properly. It is argued in this paper that due to the nature of both the state and religion, the relation between them is inevitable. Consequently, the only variable to search for in a research on the relations is the dimension, intensity and quality of that relation.
