The Work of Art – Aesthetical Symbol

Summary/Abstract: Starting from the claim that art is one of the representative fields of manifestation for the humane, the present paper is an approach, from a contemporary perspective, onto some concepts and ideas that refer to the nature and being of art; the work of art as an aesthetical symbol; the mystery of the work of art and its inner insertion into the authentic work of art; the aesthetical value’s power to create meaning; the aesthetical experience and the receiving of artistic creation. One speaks about the issue of aesthetical experience, as related to the contemporary trends of dissonance spreading, which encloses the ugliness into artistic creation. One issues some questions and, together with that, suggests some possible answers regarding the function of art.
