Summary/Abstract: The election of the American President Donald Trump and the defining of the US strategic vision, Russia’s actions in the international arena, China’s bigger and bigger weight as well as EU’s crisis create an unpredictable and dynamic environment. This environment requires not only strategic repositions, but mostly conceptual redefinitions. Therefore, can we discuss about a reaffirmation of pure realism in international relations? Was it always like this – or, from ideological reasons, the society refused to accept it?
