Summary/Abstract: The appearance of Saint Emperor Constantine on the history scene, in the IVth century, is providence, without any doubt. Constantine is a providential man for giving freedom to the Church, giving privileges to the clergy and Christians, founding churches and different establishments, consolidating the doctrine and Christian cult and finalizing apotheotically by accepting the Christian baptism. Nevertheless, some people note controversies in his life: as a Philo-Christian emperor, he kept the pagan title of ”Pontifex Maximus”, his inexpiable attitude regarding his relationship with Licinius and the case of the incest within his family, and, why not, receiving his baptism from the hands of a heretic (semi-Arian) bishop. Still, Saint Constantine is a fascinating and charismatic character.
