Summary/Abstract: The efforts were made to point out the place and role of Tjentište in medieval Bosnian state through the prism of Dubrovnik- sources. Tjentište was a settlement which beginning and development were encouraged by caravan trade. This paper tries to point out the typology of settlement and administrative-territorial organization, and then point out the economic life seen through the trade and other business activities. As an area with important traffic of goods and passengers, significant activities of individuals in the field of Tjentište were robberies on road, and the consequences of such activities were complaints in Dubrovnik, different by character and content. The material remains in the area of Tjentište indicate on the traces of cultural activities, largely medieval tombstones – standing tomb-stones, benches and churches.
