Memory and regional history. Methodical and Content Analysis of Anna Prchlíková's Memoirs for 1924-1948 in Luhacovice Zálesí

Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the analysis of the content and context of memoirs of Anna Prchlíková from Krhov, which, in an interview with Miroslav Navrátil in 2010, referred to the agrarian politician František Stára. Since it is limited to one source, the text follows the older tradition of oral history with descriptive passages where content plays an equally important role as a reason for remembrance. Anne Prchlíková's narrative has several trends: it mainly mentions negative experiences, positive values like play in childhood are shown only in the context of tragedies. An extremely important role in the narrative is played by identity formation, where moral assessments can be observed on the basis of religious or political preferences. Through the narrative about the male actors of the story, the structure of "we" gradually emerges in opposition to "them".
