Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to present a picture of the cultural heritage of Bosniaks from Sandžak, more precisely the position and its status in period from 1912 up to the present. This involves defining the Bosniak material and non-material cultural heritage, determination of historical and territorial framework in which exists, and social and other conditions in which it was produced, or issues that were emerged after the Balkan Wars, and the new challenges that were just in front. Bosniak cultural heritage in Sandžak was composed during the 800 years of people’s life in the area, today considered as Sandžak, all that time can be divided into three major periods: medieval, Ottoman and post-Ottoman period after 1912. Under the cultural heritage of Bosniaks from Sandžak, it means the entire creativity of Bosniaks, all those values and all material and non-material goods that Bosniaks themselves considered as important for their identity. Cultural heritage is the result of the way of thinking, living and social rules by which Bosniaks from Sandžak were governed. Guided by the fact that Bosniaks inherited the most important cultural goods, material and non-material, created up to 1912 when it came to a cultural, political and even biological shock and degradation of the entire Bosniak beings. It must be concluded that the last century was a span when the same goods became transformed, defined as someone else’s, their titulars as well as goods disappeared for different reasons. It seems that the period from the Balkan Wars up to the present, regarding the Bosniak cultural heritage was marked by devastation, usurpation and negation, institutional and non-institutional neglecting, partly by the fault of another people, partly of ourselves.
