Summary/Abstract: Among the prominent Orientalists and Ottoman scholars of the twentieth century from Bosnia and Herzegovina, it is inevitably mention Mehmed Mujezinović. He dealt with scientific work over the four decades. Papers, articles and reviews are numerous that he published in several professional periodicals, as well as in a few journals. He drew public attention to his work by his papers, and later by his books on Islamic epigraphy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as in wider region. Professionally, clearly and accurately he found numerous inscriptions in Ottoman Turkish, Arabic and Persian language, and translated them into Bosnian. This was the way of pulling out of oblivion hundreds of lesser-known personalities who left visible and valuable traces during that time in the region, but also in other parts of the Ottoman Empire. Among them were many well-known personalities, as well as the individuals that were completely unknown or less known before publishing the Islamic inscriptions. Thanks to his work, Mujezinović managed to “revive” the entire libraries in stone. Unfortunately, one part of the cultural and historical monuments was destroyed in the last decade of the twentieth century, but the written records in Mujezinović’s books were preserved for good.
