Summary/Abstract: There was a standstill in the Eparchy of Debar and Veles in the summer of 1908 with regard to the diplomatic activities undertaken by the Serbian Government starting with summer of 1906, aiming to get the third bishop position in Turkey (more details can be found in the Contributions of this author contained in Vardarski Zbornik Vol. 10 or herein). young Turk revolution in July 1908 as well as the introduction of Constitutionality that were followed by international Turkish-Austro-Hungarian and Serbian-Austro-Hungarian crisis due to the annexation of Bosnia and Herzegovina by Austro-Hungarian Empire, as well as military mutiny in Constantinople in the period March–April 1909 that were following one another, extended the mentioned standstill until May–June 1909. New internale and international political framework–constitutional order in Turkey and the аbolition of international reformative action in its so-called Rumelian vilayets (Thessaloniki, Bitola, kosovo), as well as unfulfilled expectations of the passive resistance against a new Greek Metropolitan of the Eparchy of Debar and Veles, followed by grave practical impediments in the Eparchy itself imposed the re-examining of any further actions. Views given by competent diplomatic actors were tremulous: while the minister in Constantinople was in favour of continuation in the same manner as before, Consuls in Skoplje and Bitola and the Ministry of foreign Affairs as well were taking into consideration the option to accelerate the resolving of the question in agreement with young Turks. On that occasion, a concise review of past actions related to the Serbian ecclesiastical policy in Turkey, as well as of prospective fu ture commitments and moves was developed. Elaborate dating 13/26 May 1909, pp.no. 1987 contains no heading. Even though its content was wider than was the Eparchy and Debar question itself, it was re lated to it via directive sent by the Ministry of foreign Affairs to the Constantinople and to the Consulates in Skopje and Bitola of 14/25 May 1909, concept pp. no.1992; both are placed in the Archives of Serbia, Ministry of foreign Affairs (MID), Political and Educational Department (PPO), original and copy in the PO, 1909, line-M 587 and PO, 1910, V-line 145/1. Therefore, as a necessary supplement to the paper related to the Debar and Veles question 1907–1910, it is shown in this volume of Vardarski Zbornik in its entirety.
