Summary/Abstract: The celebration can define how the human being has always interpreted the visible/natural or invisible/super-natural reality, thus becoming a reference for analyzing the dynamics of culture. The celebration spirit mandatorily entails the restoration of unity in the community which assumes the solemnity of the moment. We believe that taking on a role by putting on a mask is the main form of communication that unites the different stages of the evolution of culture. By repeating some gestures, by learning different texts and by exhibiting different behaviours in the delimited time/space of the celebration days, the contemporary man still realizes - more or less consciously - an action of preserving and updating a system of values. As a cultural model, the celebration preserves beyond time the main elements of its structure, which in turn leads to the preservation of its main function, the interpretation of the human universe in its relationship with the World, with the Cosmos.
