Summary/Abstract: ‘Bednarz’s investigation’ was the first investigation into the functioning of the death camp at Chełmno nad Nerem. The evidence collected on that occasion was then used in, for instance, the Nuremberg Trials and the post-war trials of Nazi criminals in Poland and the FRG.
