Non-formal education of culture promotion workers between 1945 and 1956

Summary/Abstract: In the article, I explore the organisation of non-formal education of who were known as culture promotion workers against the backdrop of cultural policy frameworks between 1945 and 1956. The policy guidelines that determined the content of organised education forms were published in the national and party policy documents as well as voiced by politicians, education activists and journalists. Based on these documents, we can trace back the model of the workers and forms of individual educational undertakings, usually courses. I depict such worker models,discuss the syllabuses of selected courses launched both by state institutions and by social organisations, stressing the changes taking place in these forms of education.
