The Discovery, Prelevation, Conservation and Restauration of a Medieval Sword from Şeica Mare

Summary/Abstract: The medieval sword of Şeica Mare was discovered during a metal detection act inOctober 2017. Due to the fact that its discovery was declared to the public authorities, itwas later properly researched by a team of archaeologists. Typologically speaking, thesword is dated in the first half of the 13th century. Its restoration and conservation werelater performed by specialists from the National Brukenthal Museum of Sibiu. The item wasmechanically polished and then chemically stabilized.
